Designing My Next Chapter in Learning Experience Design
Moving from twelve years in the elementary classroom into instructional design — and the learner-centered practice I'm building along the way.
As I transition from elementary education into instructional design, my professional goal is to create learning that is purposeful, learner-centered, and built for real application.
The short term: strengthening the foundation
Right now, I'm focused on sharpening how I identify learning needs, write measurable objectives, and develop complete instructional materials — storyboards, eLearning modules, assessments, and evaluation plans. I'm also building a learner experience mindset by paying close attention to clarity, accessibility, and how learners move through content, so the experience feels intuitive rather than overwhelming.
I want to support organizations that value learner voice and treat learning as a meaningful investment.
The next five years
Looking ahead, I see myself fully established in an instructional design or learning experience design role, ideally in a remote setting. My long-term goal is to contribute to solutions that address real performance challenges — designing training that builds confidence, strengthens skills, and helps learners apply what they've learned well beyond the course.
